How I Can Help

I absolutely love doing therapy with children and adolescents! In my work with this population, I incorporate games, activities, artwork, role-plays, etc., depending on the age and developmental stage of the child. My specialty is providing therapy to children and adolescents challenged by low self-esteem, depression, emotional outbursts, and anxiety and who have developed maladaptive behaviors in response to their life stressors.  Family work is an integral part of the therapy I do with children/young adolescents as I believe involving the entire family system produces the most growth.

Adults clients come to me for therapy as well. Some adults wish to gain insight into and change problematic behaviors. Others come to me with goals of improving their relationships, whether marital or family. In addition, I provide therapy focused on parenting as well as coparenting (parents who are not together but are parenting a child/children together).

I also have experience and like to treat clients (kids and adults) presenting with:

  • low self-esteem
  • anxiety
  • depression
  • mood instability
  • abuse histories
  • non-suicidal self-injurious behaviors
  • grief and loss
  • eating disorders
  • personality disorders
  • impairments in social skills (i.e. kids on the Autistic Spectrum)
  • sexual orientation and/or gender identity issues

As a therapist, I help kids and their families to better understand and accept one another. I allow clients the freedom and space to express themselves how they see fit. Therapy often helps individuals to cope more effectively with their emotions and circumstances. Whether you or your child need someone to talk to, have specific issues to work through, or wish to develop healthier patterns of behavior, I can help you reach your goals. Call or e-mail me to schedule an appointment today! Lets work together to help you reach your highest potential and live a more fulfilling life!
